If you are happy with removable dentures but miss the stability of your natural teeth, you might want to consider an implant retained denture system.
Where a standard denture sits on the top of the jaw, an implant retained denture more closely mimics the form and function of natural teeth.
With implant retained dentures you won’t have to worry about your teeth slipping or coming loose any more. The implant acts as a ‘root’ and provides additional support, so you’ll be able to eat a wider range of foods – crunchy apples will no longer be off limits.
Treatment is normally carried out over two appointments. During the first stage implants are placed in either side of the jaw and your existing denture is adjusted to sit comfortably over the implants during the healing process. Once the jaw has successfully healed the replacement denture is attached securely.
